“I’m encouraged the FISC is holding the FBI and Justice Department accountable for the accuracy of all FISA warrants. This is an important first step for the FISC, but the court must do more. I look forward to exercising Congress’s oversight authority to stop future abuses.”

WASHINGTON — Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) released an order requiring the FBI to inform the courts of what actions it is taking to ensure that all FISA applications are accurate.

“The intelligence community committed a severe injustice when it illegally surveilled an American citizen — Carter Page. Clearly, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court is similarly alarmed by fraudulent actions documented in Inspector General Horowitz’s report and his testimony last week. So am I. I’m encouraged the FISC is holding the FBI and Justice Department accountable for the accuracy of all FISA warrants. This is an important first step for the FISC, but the court must do more. I look forward to exercising Congress’s oversight authority to stop future abuses.”
